Support For The CEH Teaching Herd Horses
The Center for Equine Health is home to 140 very special horses. From American Quarter Horses to warmbloods, former dressage proteges to reining champions, our herd members come from all walks of life. They have settled here for their second careers teaching veterinary students and residents, as well as graduate and undergraduate students.
Our horses participate in groundbreaking projects – such as the development of the standing equine PET scanner - that advance equine veterinary care for horses in California and beyond. We are extremely grateful for all of their contributions.
The CEH Teaching Herd Fund supports daily and specialized care, including grain, therapeutic shoeing, and medical treatments, for our Teaching Herd horses. Many of the herd horses are in their late teens and twenties. Thanks to your support, we are honored to provide long, happy lives for these amazing equines.
